Can anyone help with query? I've just finished the Sat DR crossword, but have been told that entries which have used erasers, e.g. Tippex will be disqualified. Does anyone know the facts about this? Maybe that's why I've never won!

I think that a lot of this type of talk is from people that have never won a crossword prize.
I would say, though ,that Tipex(correction fluid) is a NO-NO.
It is much easier to use a pencil and then fill in the correct answers in pen.(ballpoint) and just erase the bad pencil answers.

tonyw I think you are right. Although I favour the biro with alterations approach, if i was going to enter a crossword into a competition I would use your method!

My principle is `only wimps do crosswords in pencil`. However, a friend who does competitions fills in a photocopy first.
