Good morning friends! Hope this week's offering is not too easy. Happy solving.

I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT+1) to allow others to have a go.

1. Marvellous! I got shut of sculpture (3,2,5)
2. He smears fillings with soybeans and millet, preferring double-centres (8)
3. Amplify its sound level (4)
4. Instructor in diagnostics from ENT or X-ray department... (6)
5. ...to be finished with a spinal examination? (3,3,4,2)

Hi Jolan

Good fun as always. I particularly liked Libeller- very clever clue construction. Have you never fancied having a go at this professionally?

1- Out of sight- anagram of I got shut of- definition marvellous
2- Libeller- middle 2 letters of fillings soybeans millet and preferring- definition he smears
3- Raze- Raise is a synonym for amplify and it sounds like raze as in level to the ground
4- Mentor- hidden in words from ENT or X-ray- definition instructor
5- See the back of- play on words

Look forward to next week.

Thanks

DJA

Couldn't get 2. Good clues again.

Looks like this has developed into a competition within a competition - who can be the first to post on the stroke of 5 o'clock!
