Paul I like your answer, a diplomat is a statesman, and "to tell it like it is" is to state the facts. Maybe you can help me with 22a ...Trojan character could scare Sid badly (8) C - E - S - - -. The "s" is from "fact(s) above. I get "CHESSMEN" but I don't understand he cule (scare Sid)???
