Sorry I've got so few letters, am struggling here.

What's happened to the Spectator threads?

Used to be that people would work on the puzzle and ask for hints when they got stuck, and get subtle ones.
Now, some twits want direct answers minutes after the puzzle is posted, and a couple of other twits are eager to jump in provide them.
Why? To show off how smart they are?
Give it a rest.

My attitude is more 'live and let live' - some people want help, some people want to give help. If an answer or two enables someone to enjoy the delights of the Spectator puzzle, I don't mind too much. It can get out of hand, though - I saw someone once on Answerbank who wanted/needed the answers to a dozen clues!
