...i prefer Brush Past - for what it's worth.(i do know the phrase 'can i just brush by? meaning 'i don't want to bother you but can i get past you'[)

My mother in law is so fat she went to cross the road, I swerved to avoid her and ran out of petrol!
wey-hey - who doesn't miss the 1970's?

Hi Trevor, love the mother in law joke, still laughting to that !! Rued, so obvious when explained. As for Brush Pass/Past... clue says slip, instead of slipped, so pass rather the past , confusing myself now ! Jury is out. Thanks for the assistance.

Surely it's PAST:pun on "tail went by"(passed) and infinitive "to brush past"(with preposition spelling)---no?
