The "quotation" refers to quotation marks - as around that word.

Surely it must be REPORTED SPEECH:makes perfect sense in both meanings,only the distribution of lengths is wrong!

you are right GK, it's shown as (8,6) in the paper itself and believe that it should be "reported speech"
