This was a challenge for me:no answer in 8 hours!How about "sey"(Scottish for part of beef,surloin)"returned"(YES backwards)--though that ought to be two words really.Or did most of your clue not get printed?Greetings from Insomniac in South of France.

The answer could be Affirmative.
However this throws out many of the letters you have shown.
