K- Is that a tree inside Potassium? A sheep attending Mass?!(8) First letter = k

and W - Remove to loosen string,The prize is peace and quiet within. (5,3)

tricia - this is an interesting one. Have been attempting it - but no luck so far.Are the answers cryptic or names of places?

And have you got any letters?

I think the first one is KILOGRAM
K - potassium
i - a
log - tree
ram - sheep

all equals MASS

Just a bit puzzled what Kilogram has to do with holidays,unless airline luggage allowance?

Dunno. Given the limited original information it's the best I can come up with. I think it's correct though. There aren't any trees that fit the bill!
