Clues first!

6d. stairwell. 8d. core. 11a. statesgeneral.

Are those the clues or the answers?
If clues how many letters? Do you have any?

I wish people would give the clues, the number of letters needed and details of any they have already got - it seems a wee bit peremptory to just post '3 D, 2 A.'

It was agreed by some of the regular contributors to the site that particpants would not give answers when clues and numebrs of letters etc were not given. You will note that Sudokulover had the answers to an equiry but held back from giving them in the best interests of the rest of the site. Otheriwse the site loses its appeal and becomes meaningless to those who have not got the crosswords. Let's hope this serves a a gentle and I hope polite reminder.
