8 Down. Immunological test somehow lies about English girl (5) elis?
My first thought was 'elise'(Elise, girl's name), anagram of 'lies'+ 'e'(English). However, the immunological test is ELISA.I'm tending towards the latter -anyone elsehave any views?

Certainly ELISA because of the answer. God knows how they get half this stuff like HOMEBORN and CARTOPHILE (which I hope are correct.)
