50d Delete article in Alexander Selkirk's language (5)
e????e
erase fits delete, but what is the connection to the rest of the clue if that is correct? (I can also see slang embedded but am fairly sure of the two e's.)
Without help I'm off to find my own desert island...

I assume his language was erse, with an a in it = erase

I took it to be "a" between AlexandER and SElkirk
Struggling with 10 down though as I live in LA France

Hmm that makes it doubly clever and I missed them both.
You are obviously giving a clue to 10d and I can't see that either! France fits as second word and la is the article but that's it.
Top right is my last quarter so I have done most of it...
