hi Can anyone work out 16D with explanation please?
Mean worker, perhaps with last bit of lager - this won't get him drunk!(4,4)

Near beer. It's a weak alcohol beer. Near=mean as in tight-fisted and worker=bee with r from end of lager.

Now that we're on the topic, can anyone explain 21a for me? The clueis 'arrange to hang out with once (6). I could only think of 'assort,'for arrange, which fitted with wht I had but I don't understand the logic.

arrange = assort.

to hang out with once = assort. Archaic meaning of assort = to group with others of the same or similar kind, associate with..
