The woman is Hi-l-d-a

11ac c-atap-ult

.... and the stableman is ostler -page missing from poster, so your final s is wrong

Thanks AJT. With the S being wrong, I've got a problem with 4 down. The clue is:

A nice group of people, continuously improving? (8,6)
And I've got V-R-U-U-/C-R-L-

I can only get VIRTUOUS CIRCLE from this but as phrase this doesn't seem to mean anything. Do you think it's correct?

This is recognised phrase- the opposite of vicious circle.
