Bird could be shrike with migrating east (e) giving shriek? Problem is it works the other way round too)

Can you help with
23a Murmur made by small stream, not quite river ?U?R burr & purr are both synonyms for murmur but I don't see the rest?
6d A couple of chaps need strong drink - it's in the kitchen ??D? / D?U?
sid & ed could be the couple of chaps & rum the strong drink but is side drum in the kitchen?
I'm probably on the wrong track altogether!!

shrike would fit with Krugerrand so that seems good.
The "s" from shrike is the first letter of 6d side drum?
