I have never come across this in a crossword before. 27a and 28a overlap in the same direction. Their clues are:
27) A rope clint's hurled for fast running bird (10) for which I got pratincole and
28) Spooner's submarine? No insect should live in this trough (5-3)
according to the first answer 28 should be atinc-ole, which does 't make sense to me...
Also, 29 doesn't get an appearance in the clues section. Could the answer be clueless? It is 8 letters.
Any help would be great.

From what you say, itappears that "Spooner's submarine, etc" should be 29ac.
