Hi,

I know the answer is LOOKS/INTO but I cannot workout the "lackey" bit. I can see the anagram of "skin" and the use of "o" for old. The whole clue was "Investigates skin disorder in old lackey, retired"

Hi Sally,

But a "lackey" is a man servant ... still don't understand.

Hi Bonzo
A broader use of lackey is someone who is used to do dirty work! Tool can also be used in this context.

OK, I agree, but it does not feature in Chambers. Are standards dropping!? Many thanks.

Sorry Joker, lost you there. "Tool" or "lackey". My Chambers is 25 years old .... maybe time to buy a new one ;-)

I do beg your pardon TJ,yes it is in my 1972 version. We didn't say tool though,so maybe he was looking at lackey.
