Is it just me, or are the answers to the DM Cryptic Crossword getting more and more obscure? Does anyone know who creates these crosswords for the DM?

Yes!! Agree. I seemed to get used to one compilers mindset (or managed to complete a few) - then it was -as you said - obscure.Perhaps they change compilers so that readers don't get too used to certain types of clues.This sounds very muddled - but I know what I mean!I hope for your sake that they don't ask me to clue-write!!

DM has changed compiler yet again recently. No longer a "breeze".
Should I be pleased by the extra challenge? I'm not sure yet.
