I've completed the grid apart from 8down. i get the gist of the theme but cannot for the life of me see how 8down works. Help appreciated to put me right as I feel lost at the moment

It's split 1, 4-5 and goes before 31d & 38a. relates to 29a

8 Down is linked to the definition of 29 Across,linked to 38 Across. Hope this isn't too cryptic - don't want to spoil the puzzle for others.

It refers to 38a, and is a definition in Chambers of 29ac. The definition is made up of 8d (indefinite article + 2 words) and 31 d (2 words)
