My word, we are slow tonight.

I think the Egypt one might be Ramesses, Ramasese ( or however he might spell his name).

There used to be quite a few verses to the National Anthem, but some were taken out. For instance, they had to get rid of the one about crushing rebellious Scots, in case we took the huff. I think only two verses get used now, but by the time they get to the second verse, they realise that nobody knows the words.

Sorry, Sallyw, you must have posted while I was moaning about few answers. Surprised that Burger King has been on the go for so long. I remember Wimpey/Wimpy bars from the early sixties. I even remember getting my first Chinese meal around that time. The portions were enormous. Indian food would be about a decade later.

I cheated and Googled. The white horse may date from Anglo Saxon times, and could be attributed to Alfred the Great. (Was he Anglo Saxon?). My knowledge of the kings of England is scant to say the least.
