its a well known saying ,i dont kow why there is a gap but thats how its written down . any help please

I did not see where the gap was meant to be? Did it appear?

the question looks the same on answerbank from 18th May,and still has not been answered

I don't seem to see where "the break" is?

Have looked up an old and trustworthy book, which has sayings...but no luck so far!

will keep trying...these kind of things get me "gripped".
