I'd be grateful for any help on this, not really a crosswrod type clue, more logic really but... Which is the odd one out, and why: 40,50,60,70,80,90?

I'm sure there are many possibilities for this, but 50 could be the one as it is the only one represented by a single letter 'L' in Roman numerals.

It could be 80 as eighty starts with a vowel and all the others with a consonant.
Ridiculous I know but no more so than the other suggestions.

Sorry but from the viewpoint of an engineer, I have to go for 70. It is the only one with non-repeating factors.

40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5
50 = 2 x 5 x 5
60 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 5
70 = 2 x 5 x 7
80 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5
90 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 5

That has to be the most bizarre explanation so far.
