Just need these two:-

17. My French mixes a Greek character, two fifties and New York (a mountain).

30. PAY TOWN FYNE (contains a mountain and a river)

No answer length is given for No. 17

I've been trying to do 17 on the assumption of MON + L + L + NY plus the name of a Greek letter, but it has beaten me, I'm afraid.

Hi Bees
All you needed was the PI for the greek letter.Your reasoning was perfect(as usual).
Just noticed that when I typed Hi Bees there was a very familiar ring to it. It is the nick name of the football team I misguidedly support.

Hi Joker,

Thank you for that: No wonder I couldn't figure it out, was using Mes instead of Mon for (french my).

Hi joker, Thanks for those kind words. I would never have got it because the MON convinced me I was looking for Mont or Mount.
Wasps? Is that Alloa? Funny thing, club nicknames. There's a know-all at work who's always going on and on, he makes me think of Northampton Town.
