THEAMBLERS THING

Here is the THINGY youve all been waiting for.
19 cryptic clues—no letters – no length—THAT WOULD BE TOO EASY!!!
But ---THE DEFINITION IS POET OR POETESS
Take the 19 initial letters from your answers
And with some of them discover THREE more poets.
Take the initial letters of these three, add water of Calais, stir and finish on the right note
ON WHICH TO END THIS BIT OF MADNESS. ENJOY
(All 23 solutions must be posted TOGETHER to qualify for the sweetie)

not quite sure what to make of this,is it an elaborate joke?
a quick run-through and i think i have no's 9, and 19. but i'm not strong on names of Poets.

is Packydurm the spelling you wanted?

Psst Trevor...

I have always thought of THE AMBLER as a gentle soul.

This thread seems a bit "manic".

If the answer was a Shakespearian play, I would have guessed Much ado about nothing.

Ambler? Is this really you? Or am I just being a bit paranoid about the recent infestation of trolls?

I now realise that each definition is a poet/poetess.

I originally thought the 19 first letter to the definitions would give a poet/poetess duh!
