Cross something? joinery? foundry? Somethng else entirely?

Help appreciated.

eleanormcn,

It looks like it should be CROSS COUNTRY.
Hybrid = CROSS + COUNT (point for discussion?) + RY (railway). But I'm not convinced.

I can't see 'Count' as 'Point for discussion' either, but Cross country does fit with 'Running off tracks'...

Alchemist and Bullfrog, thank you so much for your help. I agree about the vagueness of "count" for "point for discussion" but I think that it must be cross-country. If anybody out there has a better idea, feel free!

this answer could be plausable as cross country as in the running and horse riding context

CROSS COUNTRY is also the name of a railway company. Don't know if this helps or hinders you!

I think count can be a legal term.
My old dictionary gives it as: Each charge in an indictment.
Which presumably would be discussed
