Doing conversion for East End's currency - anagram of east ends- dateness.
Up to date is current so could "up to dateness" be "currency?

Gosh NeilM, this is a toughie. Can't solve but here were my thoughts:-
Woody (HERMAN) but is Herman an area near London? Not that I can find.

also Man (an island) but a three-letter word for woody???

Doing = up to, but the only word fitting the letters which I can find is UP-TO-DATENESS. I'm unable to link to clue, though.

Have you made any progress?

Great Tonyw!
Got hooked on this thread. Good example of teamwork, eh? (and, of course, a = area)

All done and dusted - but like last week, not much fun to be had.
