Hi all,
Seem to be struggling in the top left corner with the word play, any help appreciated.

1a) Being innocent stops rowdy youth turning obstreperous (7)

D - - - A - T

2d) Film-maker, dangerous and popular one (7)

- - L - I - I

I'm thinking Fellini for the second one but Fell doesn't seem to work in the clue,
If it is Fellini, then the third letter in 1 Across will be F.

Cheers for any help you give

Defiant.
Rowdy youth - Ted(teddy boy)
innocent - Naif.

I saw this answered by someone else.

Cheers all,

Never took Teddy boy (Ted) to be a rowdy youth before Trevor.
Just checked Fell in the Chambers and it has a meaning of Deadly and Fierce.
So thats finished now, thanks
