I know the answers are in today's, but until then, can anyone help with these two:

Drainage channel not charming initially to Lake Poet = MEREDITH. Get the bit about Lake Edith, and fact that Meredith was poet, but what about channel / charming bit?

Also, can't get the last one:

Specially arranges table, one beautifully dressed (7, 5).

Hi Janie
Lake is a MERE. Channel is a ditch, Remove the "c" for charming giving MEREDITH.
Hope this helps.

Hi again Janie
A dummy is shown in Chambers as a board which could mean table.

That's fantastic, thanks, Joker. It's funny how when you get fixated on one bit of the clue that you're SURE is right, you then can't seem to look beyond this! (I was so happy to have found Lake Edith).

Must get myself of copy of Chambers, my Dad always swears by it ... are they not online!

Hi Janie
Don't think " Chambers " is on line. If you go to their site they they are giving a 25% discount, £20 reduced to £15.
Amazon seem to be charging more. Maybe a local bookshop can do better but I doubt it.
