I enjoyed today's crossword, some good clues in it. These 3 I'm not entirely at ease with though:

"A peewit's first and fourth in heather? That's it." = lapwing. Got the PW but not the LA--ING.

"Circle in Belfast oddly happy to be in early part of book" = table of contents.

"Device on door helps to make pushing easier" = hinge. Is there a cryptic element here at all?
