thank you for the suggestion - I know it was a Hitchcock film, but the clue suggests two parts to the answer - is "rebec" a trailer and "Ca" sounding like a vehicle ?

I think it maybe a bit more convoluted than that.
Daphne du maurier wrote Rebecca and Daphne is a trailer (plant).Could be wrong though.
