Equipment, new, included in contract.(4)

I have put KNIT i.e. Kit + n for new.
However, I can't fathom the 'contract' bit.
Is knit a contract term?

Thank you.

according to Chambers, knit can mean "to contract (the brows, etc) to form into a knot".
