1. is SACK. Chimney = stack. drop the t for temperature. To sack means to set fire to a place.

Sorry to nit-pick, Torvic, but to sack a town means to plunder or pillage, not necessarily to destroy by fire. The more likely definition here is in the sense of sacking or firing someone from a job.
