28 ac "spit out stone about to be swallowed on to one side of plate" e-e-t. Eject is to spit out, but I can't see how it fits the rest of the clue. Ideas please.

The first E is one side of plate, JET is a black gem stone. No idea where the C comes from!

about is often used to refer to C=circa or more often RE=regarding

I must be a slower learner Tony haha! I misunderstood the clue & thought 'about' meant that JET went around- but obviously that's what the swallowing means
