25d > In City old English chap goes over budget (9) e?+?o?i?* = economise?
29a > finish with a sweet (4) d?+? = drop ?
43a > A short time before return of gypsy boy (6) t?*?o? = trevor?

the + and the * indicate where the solutions cross.

Hi Jonny.

25d > ECONOMISE (EC='The City of London', O=old, NOMISE = E/English + 'Simon'/chap backwards).

29a DROP seems a good enough answer if it fits with other letters.

In City (EC - I think that is a postcode in the City of London meaning East Central), old English (O,E), chap (simon) goes over budget (9)

finish with - as in a lover (drop).
lemon/acid drop etc

all the best, trevor.
