Thought I'd completed crossword without your help, however would appreciate your opinion on the following answers as I really can't see connection to the clues.
Local head teacher in green. (6) N - T - V -
My answer: NATIVE

Providing employment considering the head has left. (5) - S - N -
My answer: USING

Native has 'naive' (green,inexperienced) inside, along with 't'(from 'teacher)
Native obviously equals a local

Naive (green) with head of teacher - t
musing without first letter

And your second one is right too - 'musing' (considering) with its head taken off gives 'using'.
