I've solved all the clues and completed the grid but I am supposed to highlight 8 squares that "complement" 12 answers that were modified on entry. I have to admit I haven't a clue. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you, Big Dave. I hadn't come across the word adynamic before. It's a clever ending to the puzzle, though I think the title COMPLEMENT isn't particularly helpful.
