Not convinced with 31A - I assume the answer is meant to mean "having got one up" but Chambers definition doesn't seem to stretch that far?

Hi Ixion - it's not brilliant but I took it as the opposite of *****less, which kind of works.

Any explanation for 32 ac? It's my last one, and the word seems obvious, but not the derivation.

Hi ixion.

It's in my Chambers and I took the wordplay to be DERE (injury) in RID (clear)

Hi Tony - my Chambers doesn't have any definition of rider meaning to get one up(mount) or ridered in past tense as far as I can see(11th Ed)

Thanks Tony - so it is. A tad boring perhaps? Oh and I derived 31ac in the same way as you.

Ixion - I think it is an adjective. Having a rider on (of a horse, say). It's in Chambers as an adjective

I think 32a works as a triple definition.

Can anyone help with 17d:
Overcharge after meal automatically loaded(7)

Fazed - the whole means automatically loaded (of a weapon). It's constructed by taking a word that means 'overcharge' (not a use of the word I'd come across before - it's also something you can do to someone round the ear). The second part of the word describes what one is after a meal
