"Batchelor put on crazy bet and lost money" 3,4
I think it's Bad debt, but if it is, BA= batchelor, crazy bet is the last 3 letters but how does "put on" equate to dd?
I'm really trying (yes!) to understand the answers!

bachelor = B
put on = add
ebt = anagram of bet.
