Definitely Strand and aisle! Don't think there's another a?s?e, and it does mean passage. No idea about ungrammatical, though

Strand and aisle are correct. The "a" in strand is the start of aisle.

Aisle is ungrammatical as it sounds lie "I'LL". which is ungrammatical.

I think I agree with Aisle as a key is an isle (florida keys)and an aisle is a passage so that's where the ungrammatical bit comes in. Am I right?

fraid not jimbo. the ungrammatical bit is that you should say an isle not a isle.
some mention about both clues not starting with same letter after all would have been nice.

I think I prefer my reasoning re aisle sounds like isle, and a key is an isle, but thanks for you reply.
