I need help with
15a. Cheers for pose (6)
I have _R_E_T
also an explanation wpoud be helpful for
16d. My early hangover could result from this revelry (8)
I have Hogmanay and can see My/hang but how does OA fit in?
7d Patient fellow with many a good deal (3,4)
Job Done.
I understand Job being the patient fellow
many - roman D
and a being one to get the answer.
Is a good deal a 'job done'?

15a might be Prosit (for/pro, pose/sit)

ps. prosit is what Germans say instead of cheers as a drinking toast.
I think Campanilla will know what the literal meaning is.

Hi Wombat.

16d .. OA might be an abbreviation for 'o/a' (='on account of') and this might be taken to mean 'could result from'.

Best Wishes.

pps. I must hasten to add that I am in no way implying that Campanilla drinks like a fish.

Just that she can speak German.

Thanks for the input Trevor.
I think 'Job Lots' is more feasible than 'Job Done' as it gives the 's' in prosit that you suggest. I had always thought it was prost but googled it and prosit was confirmed. It actually gave me a link to Ein Prosit - a short video clip from the 2006 Oktoberfest on you tube - hundreds of beer-swilling germans in drunken harmony.
Also JimC, I'd never heard of o/a (on account of) so thats something new I've learned today.
