Thank you Chald. That fits with my tentative answer to 12 across, although how the answer there fits the clue I don't know.

I don't care for Puck, or Enigmatist. Bring back Custos!

The clue. Former name for 12's gay community.(10) THe answer to 12 is Cobh, once known as Queenstown. It is in County Cork.

A cob is a male swan. The answer to 11 across is "Swan" Hunter!
