I have SAFE-??A?K?R.
Is it BREAKER or CRACKER...& how does it solve the clue 'pearl'?

Having just solved my second-last clue @43A -
giving me the 'C' from 'Cheap', I had deduced it to be 'Cracker', but for some strange Monday Morning density I was still unable to connect 'Pearl' to 'Cracker', so thanks again for putting me out of my misery. Paul
