Help with last one please 18a, Drink to stimulate apetite 9 letters, I have

All I can think of is aperitif but there is no e on the end

appetizer?

I think aperitife is the plural so clue should of said drinkS

Alternative spelling is APERITIVE.

Michael, you are talking rot. Chambers do not "admit" anything, to use your parlance. Chambers is an accepted dictionary, or medium of reference, in the English language.The word "aperitive" is an accepted alternative spelling of "aperitif", So, why do you have a problem with the word, that you have posted on at least three separate threads?
