Yes DIBBLER which is the thing in the shed (Dibble is a verb) not found in shed!! KIND regards

Sorry to disagree THEAMBLER, but Chambers gives dibble as noun (a pointed tool) as well as verb (to plant with a dibble), and dibbler as someone who, or that which, dibbles

At home it was always called "the dibber" so I checked before I posted.

HI SIAMCAT and thanks for the info on the dib dib dib. Have horny hands from having to DIB(Dads insruction). At last(50 years on ) I get it. Kind reagards. Have a nice day(and week)

Yes, it was always my job to dib, and at precise spacings along the row. "A very important job" according to my Dad. At the time I believed him, but now I wonder ....
