above clue "shock with fool getting joint for daughter" - answer "Jolt" - can anyone explain ?
Had completed whole x word, had the letters *O*T.
Now I've got the answer from today's DT - still don't get it ! Almo

a fool is a Dolt - D for daughter
Change the D to a J for joint
and you get Jolt
