Hi Suesan,

Could No. 59 possibly be "brisket"?

Going fast - brisk
he loses a letter - e
but male ends it - t

I just can't quite justify why the male bit.

Regards,

Hi suesan. Thanks for your reply having looked on the sitesaveronlinesite. Cant decided which one is for the menu quiz, there are two that finish on the 30th June with no titles. Is it the one for Kent or Yorkshire? Many thanks in advance.

Hi Campanilla

Many thanks for the suggestion - maybe just the last letter of it ignoring the man??

thanks

I have an alternative to Campanilla's suggestion for number 59 but I don't think it is any better.

Going fast, he - QUICK HE
Loses a letter - K gives QUICHE
But male ends it - HE
This doesn't ignore the man but uses him twice!

Hi.

Here's a dodgy suggestion for an answer, this time for no.18:

STIRRUP CUP.

This is farewell drink and might appear on a menu of drinks in a pub.

'Stirrup' sounds like 'stir up'; stir is what chefs do to mix (confuse?) their ingredients.
'Up' could be equivalent to 'over', from the clue.
[alternatively 'stir up' could just equate to 'chefs confused', from the clue]
'Cup' is an equivalent measure to 'eight tablespoons', from the clue.

Best Wishes.
