I have just picked up my 1960 copy of Larousse Gastronomique and in it is the recipe for the Mr.Callaghan cocktail.2/5 dry cinzano,1/5 apr. brandy and 2/5 angastoura bitters.

hello i got that before, looked up the cocktail, but it didn't list those ingredients.

Sorry emf,I'm not claiming it as my answer and I have seen your earlier reply it was just that the ingredients needed confirming.I am suspicious of the print though,I think it should read 1/5 angastoura as otherwise it would be too overpowering.I also missed the fact that my copy says this edition printed in 1977 so it could be named after sunny Jim himself.
