If RV is a camper van, then YEN (wants) is reversed(wheels) to go round it.

I concur with nervy for the reasons given. 24 across is a very unusual word and gave me much food for thought. Not found in Chambers or OED. Comes up immediately when googled. It's a back formation of another unusual, but slightly more weel known word. INDY prize has been rock hard recently!
