This is my last one - but the answer I've come up with doesn't seem to exist!
35 A. Sprinkle on fresh,powerful ingredient (9)
h-t-e-p-r
I think it's 'hotpepper'- but Google came up with nothing.

If your H and T are wrong it could be redpepper
Sprinkle = Pepper
Fresh = Rosy (red)
Maybe wrong though

Thanks,Sudokulover, for confirming my 'h'. I'm sure of my other letters and feel that 'hotpepper' is such a good,logical answer.
'hot' = fresh
'pepper' = sprinkle on
'hotpepper' = powerful ingredient.
Just a pity the word doesn't seem to exist!

It must be hotpepper although it should be two words.

Maybe someone who's doing this crossword online will post to say that their version shows the answer as two words -3,6. That'd settle things for me!

I'd also decided that it must be hotpepper, for the same reasons - but was reluctant to put it in as the only dictionary which even mentions it as a spice has it as two words, not one. Even Googling "hotpepper" as one word only brings up two-word hits.

Thanks for this, everyone - it's very reassuring to know that it isn't just me!

Is there any way we can complain to The Times about this one?

I got stuck on this one too. I have never seen it as one word but can't think on anything else. A bit annoying.
