A prompt here please.

I'm involved with Sales getting the girl (7) D?L?H?N. I thought this might refer to David Sales but can't fathom it out.

Sri Lankan batsman at hospital in island, collapsed (7) M?L?S?A I think the island must be Malta & there is obviously an H somewhere.

I think you have the clues round the wrong way!

Tillakaratne DILSHAN, a Sri Lankan batsman, is H(ospital) inside an anagram (collapsed) of ISLAND

MELISSA (girl) is an anagram of I'M SALES

Thank you for that but the letters I have are definitely correct so it doesn't fit.

an anagram of I'm and sales gives MELISSA - a girls name, but does no fit with the letters you already have.

So the clues are the wrong way round? No wonder that I couldn't solve them! Many thanks.

Lamby - I think Big Dave's answer for Dilshan must be right becauses the letters and explanation fit. If you haven't mixed them up then maybe the compiler has?

The clues are printed reversed in the actual crossword & that's why I couldn't fathom it out. Thank you for spotting it.
