I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

2. Avoids ancient openings to excavate vessels in the Egyptian's sarcophagus (6)
3. Bitter cold left clover engulfed in trouble (10)
4. Partially deaf in custom-built smithy from hearing anvil (5)
5. Returning, we hound lady outside entrance? (7)
